About This Photo:

Dick Daniels shared this collage photo he created from pictures he has taken of members and their airplanes. He has captured some of the wide variety of aircraft flown here at Aero R/C Club's Baker Field.

Web Site Updates:

As you look around at this new web site, you will see that some of the links in the navigation bar (in header section) are darkened and they don't take you anywhere. The light grey lettered buttons are working and will take you to different pages within the web site.

Obviously, this is the Home page. Here you will find the featured photo, a brief sampling of the upcoming events. Hopefully, we can get people to submit photos for the this page on a monthly basis. If we get a lot of participation, I will update it more often. Remember, these do not have to be new photos. If you can scan old photos and send them to me, I will put them on the page too.

I hope the weather sticker from Weather Underground works well for us. The data is reported from an amateur station on Miller Road west of Swartz Creek. It was the closest, most reliable station offered. If anyone knows of a closer station we can link to, please let me know.

Also, look to this area of the page for club information, an overview of web site updates, and other points of interest. Maybe even more photos if we get them...

The About page is intended to be information to introduce perspective members and guests to our club. I know this page needs work. I would like to include some history of the club - if anyone could send me something, it would be greatly appreciated.

The Field page not only provides a map to the field, but also a couple of satellite images with info added to help new pilots and guests become familiar with the field and the surrounding areas. I hope the depiction of No-Fly and Caution zones will help keep aircraft from straying over our neighbors too much.

The Forum page is set up and working. You will need to register in order to post anything. I am looking for input on what categories you would like on the forum. Right now I have a place to; suggest new categories, post times when you will be flying so others can join you, post ads to buy sell or trade, and post photos. I thought this might be a good place for photos instead of a gallery page. My thoughts were that we could make an entry for the club events and post photos under that heading. If folks want to post photos of projects, favorite airplanes, or new acquisitions, they will be able to do so without having to log into a different page. I will be keeping an eye on what is posted to the forum to ensure it is being used properly. If you see something inappropriate before I do, PLEASE call or email me right away. As time goes by, filters will become more effective and I may enlist others to help moderate the forum.

2/25/15 - The links page is up and running now. If you would like to see other links added, please let me know. Send an email telling me what the web site is about, the address (URL) and what you like about it. If you see links that do not work or should be removed, let me know that too - just give me a reason.

2/26/15 - I am starting to load things on the Member's Page now. The login is similar to the old web site. The username is the name of our flying site typed in as one word in all lower-case letters. The password is the gate code on your 2015 membership card typed in twice (ex: 12341234). You will find that the links to documents on this page ONLY work from this page. You can refresh the page, but if you try to link to the documents listed here you will be redirected to the Home page. If you find a way around this PLEASE let me know ASAP.
